The Reality Check You Need

Aug 5, 2025

I think I can predict the outcome of your company or creative project better than you can.

Here's the thing: the outcome you'll achieve with your work is a direct product of what you do consistently every week over many years.

If you want to move from dream to reality, this is where you need to start looking.

As a founder, if you're not:

  • talking to 5+ customers
  • shipping improvements to your product
  • systematically adjusting your trajectory based on what you learn

every week, you probably won't build a meaningful company.

As a musician, if you're not:

  • making 2+ demos
  • sending demos to 5+ labels
  • creating content to reach new fans

every week, you probably won't build a successful artist career.

As a content creator, if you're not:

  • creating 5+ pieces of content
  • experimenting with new formats
  • actively getting better at your craft

every week, you probably won't build a meaningful audience.

Sure, the exact numbers can vary. But here's the point: you need to consistently create the right outcomes over many years to have a real shot at success.

This might seem like common sense, but I see way too many creatives and founders skipping the basic stuff that's proven to work. Some kind of resistance always shows up (which is really just fear wearing a different mask).

If you want a real shot at the outcomes you're dreaming of, go back to basics and take an honest look at what you're actually doing each week.

And if it doesn't line up with what you want to accomplish? Start fixing it now.
