Pursuit of Truth

Knowledge and company building are pursuits of truth.

Truth is not a final destination. But an open-ended process of finding better explanations.

In knowledge you pursue better explanations of the world. And the source through which you find truth is nature.

"Either your drone flies or it doesn't".

In company building you pursue better explanations of value creation and value capture. And the source through which you find truth is the market.

"Either people buy your product or they don't".

The process to get to truth is to make guesses (conjecture) and then run an experiment to try to prove it wrong. The scientific method.

The truer your explanations get, the more you will be rewarded. By recognition in the knowledge creation domain, or by money you make in the market.

Everything that distracts a researcher or a founder from finding truth against the source of nature or markets is slowing down the speed at which you move.

Instead of making your product perfect over 2 months with your personal taste and judgment alone, test it against the market. This is where truth is found, not your subjective taste.

And this is what differentiates a good founder from a bad founder. The good founder optimizes everything to find truth from the market. The bad founder acts in an illusion of their own perception.

Pursue truth. It will serve you and your work.

Part of that is accepting the reality that your guesses are wrong most of the time. Which is not bad, but an essential part of getting you closer to truth.
